Going to the clinic or the hospital in the States is very expensive. That is why every student is required to have insurance. Your insurance policy requires you to seek medical assistance from an approved medical provider, and to follow pre-certification procedures. Failure to follow pre-certification could result in a 20% reduction in benefits. Please call the Seven Corners Assistance Department at 1-800-335-0477 before you go to the doctor’s. Present a copy of your claim form and your insurance card to the medical provider.
You will be asked to pay a non-refundable deductible, or you may be asked to pay for the medical bill in full. Deductibles for a network doctor is $40, for an out-of-network doctor, the deductible is $100. If you are asked to pay in full, then you are responsible for filing for the insurance claim yourself. Do not go to the emergency room unless you have a life-threatening emergency, as the ER’s deductible is very expensive, around $250.
